Dan Graham (1942)

Dan GRAHAM (Urbana, Illinois, 1942)

Graham is considered part of modern movements such as Minimal Art, Conceptual art and Performance art. In addition, he wrote rock music, was an art and architecture critic, author, sculptor and collaborator with architects and artists. In particular, his Pavillons were accepted and exhibited all over Europe and Japan, such as at the documenta 7 (1982) in Kassel and in the sculpture park of the Kröller-Müller Museum from 1985 onwards (Two Adjacent Pavillions). Graham, however, did not receive the recognition in the United States that his friends and contemporaries Robert Smithson, Gordon Matta-Clark, Vito Acconci, Sol Lewitt, Carl Andre, Dan Flavin and many others did. Dan Graham lives and works in New York.
