Louis HEIJMANS (Utrecht 1890 - Spaubeek 1977)
Louis Heijmans was originally a painter, draftsman, lithographer and etcher, who mainly worked in Zeeland. He was known for his paintings and etchings, which are often naturalistic in character. After his education at the Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague, he returned to Zeeland, where he continued to live and work and which was often the subject of his works. Heijmans was a member and co-founder of the art circle Het Zuiden.
