In 1857 Ludwig Moser established an engraving workshop and shop in Karlovy Vary. In twenty years Moser became internationally known with stores in London, Paris, Saint Petersburg and New York. His style was characterized by engraving and decorating with opaque raised enamel paint and gold. Around 1900 he developed the Eckentief engraving, with which deep plant motifs could be engraved. Ten years later, under his son, Leo Moser, the first glassware of the popular oroplastic with wide gold-plated band was issued. In the same period, the production of colored glass also started, with which more experiments would later be done.
Moser has developed into a major international glass manufacturer of tableware and utility glass, as well as glass objects for special occasions (such as the trophy for the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary) and royal celebrations.
