Founded in 1945 - dissolved in 1970
The name Amsterdamse Limburgers is used for a group of Limburg artists who formed themselves in Amsterdam during the war years. During this period they studied at the Rijksakademie of visual arts. So they all left Limburg to study in Amsterdam, to work in complete freedom and to create a furore there. This is also what binds them, although they did not form a formal group.
