Founded in 1884 - dissolved in 2007
Arti et Industriae (Nederlansche Vereeniging tot Promotion van Kunstnijverhied Arti et Industriae) was a Dutch artists' association that arose because of the changing view of art. Arts and crafts flourished more and more and were increasingly imported. Dissatisfaction with these imports and machine-made products from their own country led to the establishment of Arti et Industriae. The founders of the association wanted to unite a core of Dutch artists who could prove artistry in their profession through personally produced pieces of work. The association was based in The Hague, but it did have national ambitions. In 2007, Arti et Industriae merged with the artists' association Brak-LKV to form De Nederlandse Vereniging Arti et Industriae-Brak-LKV, or Artists' Association ArtiBrak.
