Founded in 1927 - dissolved in 1934
The Socialist Artists Circle was a group of left-wing artists who showed similarities in artistic and political ideas. Anti-militarism was a subject that often recurred in the work of the artists. The group wanted to create solid socialist art and bring the working class into contact with it. However, the Socialist Artists Circle also stood up for the material interests of its members. Ultimately, the political struggle within the group became the reason for disbanding.
