Association of Practitioners of the Monumental Arts

The Association of Practitioners of the Monumental Arts (VBMK) arose from the Affiliated Arts Federation, within which there was discussion about the admission of craftsmen and industrial designers. The VBMK strived for “a generally accepted, self-evident place for monumental art in the Netherlands, and to maintain a high standard in this art”. At the end of the 1950s, architects' interest in monumental art declined and the association was eventually dissolved.
