The gallery focused on the presentation of Caribbean artists, who had little opportunity to show their work to the Dutch public. In addition to being a visual artist, Armand Baag was also a composer, lyricist, singer, performer and musician. He made figurative art, but also experimented with abstraction ideas. For example, he tried to capture winti in a few works. Art historian Bart Krieger "When I look at the entire oeuvre of Armand Baag, it was his mission to portray Afro-Surinamese history".
