Very nice etching by Clement De Porre (1874 – 1950), representation of a man on a chair. Dimensions with vintage frame 27x32cm, dimensions of the etching 10x15cm. Signed in ink lower right.
Clement De Porre was born in 1874 in Ghent and died in 1950 in Ledeberg. He was a painter, draftsman, watercolourist and etcher. Studied violin at the Conservatory in Ghent and took lessons at the Ghent Academy. Preference for characters, landscapes and panoramas. He previously belonged to the landscape painters of the Dendermondse School. In his work one finds an impressionistic touch, which evolved into a warm intimism that bathed in a melancholic atmosphere. Lived between 1907 and 1912 in Sint-Martens-Latem. Included in various large art collections.
