Emile Viegers has had a wonderful and long career. He graduated with honors from the Arnhem Art Academy in 1944, and in Paris he studied from 1945 to 1949 at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He subsequently created a rich oeuvre of Parisian cityscapes, (French) landscapes, interiors, still lifes and (state) portraits, in a style that reflects the legacy of the Impressionists.
Represented in the art collection of the province of Gelderland and the Freedom Museum in Groesbeek.
Emile was the cousin of Ben Viegers and the father of Annelies and Janneke Viegers.
