This large-format statue was made in the early 1970s by Erik Claus on behalf of the Dutch Central Bank.

This smaller copy was used by the Dutch Bank as an anniversary gift. After 20 years of service, the staff received this statuette.

Eric Claus can be seen as an important representative of contemporary classical sculpture. Through a wide range of subjects, Eric Claus knows how to captivate the viewer again and again. Whether it is the figures from the popular Italian Commedia dell arte or the great philosophers from the previous century and not to forget classical mythology, it is his artistic vision and his craftsmanship that surprise the viewer.

Eric Claus's great creative power and boundless work ethic have led to an extensive oeuvre in a period of more than half a century. An oeuvre of many monumental and smaller sculptures, medals, paintings and drawings.

Eric Claus attended the Graphic School in Amsterdam from 1949 to 1952, the State Normal School for Drawing Teachers in Amsterdam from 1952 to 1954, the State Academy in Amsterdam from 1955 to 1960, and was Professor at the State Academy in Amsterdam from 1979 to 1990.

He has received many awards and has obtained many commissions
