The painter Gena Genadiy, who lives and works in Hengelo, was born in Russia in 1982. In St. Petersburg, he attended private schooling for four years to become proficient in something he had shown great talent for and enjoyed from an early age: painting. Gena has been creative from an early age.
When Gena was a child, he could spend hours working with all kinds of colors and materials to make beautiful works of art. This ultimately showed that painting was his "second nature". By expressing his feelings he shows how he stands in life.
He soon developed a very striking style; you recognize a painting by Gena immediately! The subjects of his paintings are usually of an abstract nature, but figurative work also belongs to his arsenal. The paintings, often of large format and in striking dimensions, are characterized by a generous use of paint, a magical atmosphere and a great richness of details.
in 1999 Gena moved to the Netherlands. He also quickly made a name for himself here and his paintings are now all over the world. The painter also paints the sides of his canvases, so that the work can be hung without a frame and can attract all the attention. The artist regularly opts for elongated canvases, which give the space a spectacular effect. Gena's abstract work generally appeals to more people than the figurative, even though it also includes very beautiful and atmospheric specimens.
