Information about the artist: George Heidweiller (Beverwijk, May 15, 1963) is a Dutch painter, screen printer, and collagist. George Heidweiller grew up largely in New York, Curaçao and Suriname before the family returned to the Netherlands. He started his studies at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 1981. After completing his education, he settled in Amsterdam. At the age of twenty-three his first exhibition took place at Millers Gallery. George Heidweiller made many journeys. After another year of traveling through India, where he picked up his vibrant use of color, he returned to Amsterdam and made large-scale collages there. Heidweiller then also started making screen prints and decided to start his own screen printing studio, not only to make his own work, but also that of artists such as Paul Blanca, Herman Brood and Peter Klashorst.
