Henneman grew up in Haarlem and studied at the Institute for Applied Arts in Amsterdam from 1959 to 1961. He then traveled to Belgium, France, Switzerland and the United States for a long period of time.
He lives and works in Amsterdam. His most famous work is the 2006 monument to Theo van Gogh, The Scream. The memorial, which was unveiled in 2007, depicts freedom of expression and how Van Gogh was silenced. Another well-known work is a portrait of Princess Beatrix.
Johannes Jeroen Maria (Jeroen) Henneman (Haarlem, October 17, 1942) is a Dutch painter, draftsman, graphic artist, illustrator, sculptor and theater and television maker. On April 10, 2015, a statue of the Gouda-born poet Leo Vroman, made by Henneman, was unveiled on the roof of the Chocolate Factory in Gouda (collective building of the library and the regional archives). April 10, 2015 is the centenary of Vroman's birth.
