Joseph Heinrich Beuys (Krefeld, 12 May 1921 - Düsseldorf, 23 January 1986) was a German visual artist. He made drawings, plastics, sculptures and installations. He became known for plastic objects, performances and Fluxus concerts. He was a professor in Düsseldorf and is considered one of the most influential German artists of the second half of the twentieth century.
