Beautiful, large work by the first Dutch cubist Lodewijk Schelfhout. Drypoint etching on Van Gelder & Zonen paper, signed in pencil, dated (1919) and with the addition “3 st.” (the 3rd state of this etching). This etching is truly rare; divided over 3 states, only 10 copies are known. In good condition. Literature: Catalogue des pointes-seches de Lodewijk Schelfhout no. 75.

Dimensions: 65cm x55cm (sheet), 60cm x 50cm (etching)

This etching is also in the collection of the Rijksmuseum (the Rijksprentenkabinet):

This item is strongly preferred to be picked up. Only if that is really not possible, the work can be sent well-packaged, registered and extra insured at the expense of the buyer. Nevertheless, any remaining risk in that case lies explicitly with the buyer.

Shipping by courier is also possible and can be arranged by the buyer himself/herself with a courier of his/her choice (for example with Swift Couriers via the Kunstveiling website).
When purchasing, a work of art can always be picked up, but by appointment, in Diemen (near Amsterdam, a few minutes from the A10 ring road). The collection period is very long; you can possibly pick up the work weeks or even months later and, if possible, combine it with a visit to (the) Amsterdam area for other matters. In that case you will, of course, save any shipping costs.
Condition
ConditionGood
Sheet has been framed, the sheet is somewhat discoloured, also from a previous passe-partout, and there are a number of foxing spots in the paper (not disturbing). Reframed with passe-partout the work is very good because the etching itself is in very good condition.
