Pupil of the sculptor Jan Bronner (1881-1972). She became famous for her bronze sculptures of horses. Margot Heldring was born in the United States as the daughter of Johannes Carel Hendrik Heldring (1887-1962) and Elisabeth Maria Talma (1892-1985). Her parents lived in Bern, Switzerland in 1918, where Margot's eldest brother was born. The family then moved to the United States, where Margot and her younger sister were born in 1924.
