Time and nature alter and sometimes enrich what humans have created. And it seems that what we create points both to the world as we know it at this moment and to general ideas and emotions that transcend the moment - intimate personal experiences, familiar to all of us, and also a sense of the universal that transcends the human.

All the artist can hope to achieve is a deep sympathy with the world around him - to lose the distinction between himself and everything else - and from there to create.
Marion Visione works within a historical consciousness that seeks timelessness. Her bronzes seem like cultural survivors - predominantly female figures marked and distorted by time. The goals of elegance and modesty are achieved through their apparently fragile structure and dynamic form.
