  • Martin Ware, etcher and book illustrator was born in London in 1946. Son of the war artist, William Ware and the painter Eileen Aldridge. He studied at the Camberwell School of Art, in Croyden and at the Royal College of Art. Taught at various colleges from 1972-2002. Director of the Hastings etchings Workshop since 1980. Exhibited extensively in Britain and also in Holland, Norway, Sweden and Canada. Collections of his work are held at the V&A, Leeds City Art Gallery, Ohio University and The Newcombe Library Chicago among others. Illustrated Fairy Tales By Perrault, Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti, Rimbaud and Lord Thomas and Fair Eleanor for the Worlds End Press. Moved to France in 2008.
