Peter Cox - Heathland landscape with trees - Sold

Peter Cox (Peter Johannes Antonius) was born on December 5, 1912 in Mook and died on June 26, 1985 in Leiden. His father was also a painter and was called Gerard Cox (Sr). At the beginning of his career, Peter signed T. Cox, as everyone in Limburg called him Toon. At his second marriage in 1937, at the insistence of his wife Nollie, he signed P.Cox. Education: Royal Academy of Art and Design in 's-Hertogenbosch (including lessons from Huib Luns) 1932-1935. The period he lived in the region: 1912-1914 Mook, 1915 Plasmolen, 1915-1917 Mook, 1917-1922 Middelaar (Zevenbergen), 1928-1929 Plasmolen, 1940-1945 Mook. Peter Cox also lived in Leiden and Katwijk. Many dune landscapes were created in this period, after 1945. He was a member of the "Leiden Drawing Academy-ARS", also painted outside the Netherlands and made several study trips. France in particular attracted him very much. He lived here for several months a year.
