Dutch artist Peter Diem (1945) paints like a whirlwind, he lives his art. Powerful canvases, exponents of his explosive lifestyle. He discovers his great love early on. Arriving in the United States - Peter is just 20 years old - he comes into contact with Jason Berger, a famous artist and once a student of the great painter Henri Matisse. Berger is immediately full of fire when he sees the first works of the young artist, who at that time keeps his head above water financially as a lithographer.

Diem paints intensely, with large gestures. Feverishly, intensely and with powerful strokes, enormous amounts of paint are applied to the canvas, if necessary straight from the tube and with both hands at the same time. In addition to cheerful cows and painted travel impressions, the Dutch artist Peter Diem works with great dedication on his cosmic themes. America is too small, even the world is not big enough for the energetic painter who grows towards Universal Art. The cosmic works quickly attract attention during exhibitions and establish his name in the prestigious American art world.
