Rob Kila
Rob Kila (1937 Amsterdam) stamt uit een veelzijdige kunstzinnige familie. Hij hield zijn eerste expositie in 1954 (!) in den Haag. Na zijn zeemansloopbaan volgde hij in de jaren zeventig lessen aan de Rotterdamse Kunstacademie en tekenlessen bij zijn vriend Joop van Meel.
De pentekeningen en etsen van Rob Kila worden getypeerd door fijne arceringen en puntjes, terwijl de kleuren zijn aangebracht met zachte pastelachtige kleurpigmenten. Sommige werkstukken zijn in de stijl van het magisch realisme. De onderwerpen van zijn tekeningen en etsen laten duidelijk zijn verbondenheid met de Hollandse eilanden en Terschelling zien. Zijn stijl is in de beginperiode sterk beïnvloed door Escher.
