Prachtige werk van de beroemde de Ploeg kunstenaar Wobbe Alkema. Origineel werk, inkt en oliekrijt op papier. Het werk is door de kunstenaar rechtsonder gesigneerd en gedateerd.
Het werk is mooi ingelijst met een bijpassende lijst en passe partout.
De Ploeg kende in de aanvangsjaren ook kunstenaars die zich niet zouden overgeven aan het kleurrijke expressionisme, maar stijlelementen van het constructivisme en De stijl gebruikten.
Belangrijk in dit verband is de autodidact Wobbe Alkema. Hij is de belangrijkste representant van de abstract-constructivistische richting binnen De Ploeg. Met zijn schilderij Compositie no. 3 uit 1924 heeft Alkema een belangrijke ontwikkeling doorgemaakt. In dit jaar komt hij tot een schilderkunst waarin hij zich voortaan uitsluitend bezig zal houden met een geometrische vormentaal, waarbij geen enkele verwijzing meer naar de visuele werkelijkheid wordt gemaakt.
